Deke Slayton Memorial Space & Bike Museum Located above the History Room building (one of Sparta’s Historic four corners), the Deke Slayton Space & Bike museum is an must see for anyone who likes bikes, space or aviation. Children even have their own interactive area so little ones can have fun while mom & dad enjoy the museum.

Monroe County History Room After visiting the Space & Bike Museum, be sure to stop in at Monroe County’s History Room located under the Space & Bike Museum. Here you can see many unique items including a civil war drum, old medical equipment, and many other items form Sparta’s rich history.

Little Falls Railroad and Doll Museum Take the short 20 minute drive north on hwy 27 to Little Falls Railroad and Doll Museum and you will not be disappointed! See model trains, telegrapher’s office, lanterns from many railroads, Railroad art and artifacts as well as a real caboose and outdoor railroad! You’ll also be amazed at the nearly 1,600 dolls from the 1800’s to today on display. The Doll museum is a guided tour and includes such “must sees” as the Presidential First Ladies, Victorian Lady and wedding dolls.
Open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5pm. Closed Tuesday & Wednesday. Cost: $5/person. Children under 6 are free.*
Directions: Travel Hwy 27 north 12 miles from Sparta to Cataract, WI. Turn right on County Hwy "B" 7/10 of a mile to County Hwy "II". Angle left onto II and follow it to the museum on the left side of the road.
